PeopleSoft Receives GateWay from STC

PeopleSoft Inc. (www.peoplesoft.com) Tuesday announced an agreement to distribute DataGate, a solution developed by Software Technologies Corp. (STC, www.stc.com) for enterprise application integration (EAI).

More specifically, the product allows PeopleSoft software to interact with SAP R/3 applications, such as linking PeopleSoft HRMS with SAP Financials and SAP HR. Called the DataGateWay for PeopleSoft, the solution was tested and certified under PeopleSoft's Partner Integration Team. PeopleSoft is hoping the product paves the way for more business-to-business e-commerce using its applications.

Both companies are boasting simplified setup of the system by automating much of the process. STC will offer certified support for the DataGateWay for PeopleSoft, which is now generally available from PeopleSoft. "The STC DataGateWay for PeopleSoft systems is designed to provide our customers with more than 80 percent of the required integration between PeopleSoft HRMS and SAP out of the box, saving them time and money and allowing efficient customization for their individual requirements," says Robert Eve, vice president of Alliances@PeopleSoft. In addition, STC plans to create a curriculum of classes on integration technology at PeopleSoft University, the company's education center for employees and alliance partners.

STC reports its DataGate is implemented at more than 1,200 sites worldwide. As a member of the PeopleSoft Global Alliance Program, STC will be teaming with PeopleSoft on joint technical development and testing, marketing and sales opportunities. -- Brian Ploskina
