Intel Releases LANDesk Server Manager Pro v6

Intel Corp. today announced LANDesk Server Manager Pro version 6, which provides the ability to monitor server health and performance parameters, diagnose and repair problems, and monitor server capacity trends, all via a LAN or remote dialup connection.

Intel LANDesk Server Manager Pro is a server vendor-independent, integrated hardware and software solution available on the market today for managing Intel Architecture-based servers running Microsoft Windows NT or Novell NetWare.

The Emergency Management Card (EMC) included in LANDesk Server Manager Pro version 6 is a PCI card that comes with an integrated Intel 56K modem and 100Mb Ethernet connection. The EMC enables alerts to be sent to network administrators when their servers have problems and allows them to resolve most problems remotely over a telephone line or private LAN even when the server is in a down state. --Brian Ploskina, Assistant Editor
