Lucent Unveils Outdoor Wireless Networking

Lucent Technologies has announced the availability of its new WaveAccess high-speed, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint outdoor wireless networking systems for large corporate campuses. WaveAccess is based on Lucent's WavePoint II standard and includes a system of routers, wireless radio cards, and bandwidth management to ensure connectivity within a range of 10 miles. The technology provides both 64-bit and 128-bit encryption and can provide both Ethernet and wireless networking capability.
