Binary Evolution Releases App Server Update

An update release of Binary Evolution Inc.'s VelociGen application server features accelerated e-commerce transaction speed and improved CGI compatibility.
VelociGen 2.0 includes several new features such as extensions for XML functionality. All Perl scripts are pre-compiled and cached, which allows persistent database connections using DBI, Perl's universal database interface. VelociGen 2.0 offers security support for virtual hosting ISPs by isolating scripts written by individual users so that a bad script does not affect any other scripts. The new server features an HTML interface to Perl documentation.
VelociGen's speed is achieved by maintaining Perl and Tcl processing engines, pooling database connections, and byte-compiling and caching scripts. As a Web site's traffic increases, VelociGen's scalable, load-balancing architecture allows expansion of capacity to meet the demand.
VelociGen 2.0 runs on several platforms, including Windows NT, Solaris, and Linux.
