Tacit Knowledge Systems Inc. today announced the release of KnowledgeMail and KnowledgeMail Plus.
KnowledgeMail automates the discovery, organization, distribution and exchange of information. The system creates private and public profiles of each user in the enterprise and maintains them in real time. KnowledgeMail and KnowledgeMail Plus then connect people with information as needed, weeding out message recipients that might be superfluous or adding recipients who may have been overlooked. KnowledgeMail's interface, the KnowledgeMail Desktop, integrates into a user's standard work environment, and the KnowledgeMail Portal puts users in a browser environment in order to navigate, browse, and find the information they need.
KnowledgeMail extracts key terms and phrases found in e-mail content, and adds them to a user's private profile. The system then organizes the terms and adds categories of terms to users' published profiles, which reside on the corporate intranet, where they can be searched and ranked against any e-mail message or document. KnowledgeMail Desktop is visible to users as additional buttons integrated into their existing e-mail client. It analyzes any document, report, Web page or e-mail message, compares its context to the public profiles database, and suggests people in the organization who might be interested in the document. KnowledgeMail Portal provides KnowledgeMail's functionality in a browser interface. It allows users to control the profiling process or manually enhance or modify their published profile at any time.
KnowledgeMail Plus has all the functionality of KnowledgeMail, with the additional capacity of KnowledgeSweep, which unlocks private knowledge without sacrificing users' privacy. Users ask KnowledgeSweep to query all of the private profiles on the system, and alert matching individuals to an incoming request for information. Those individuals can then choose to remain anonymous or respond to the request.
KnowledgeMail and KnowledgeMail Plus will be available this month.
