RCP: What's the elevator pitch for your company to a Microsoft partner?
Hoffman: Veeam Software, 2012 Microsoft Management and Virtualization Partner of the Year, develops innovative products for virtual infrastructure management and data protection. Veeam drives adoption of a Microsoft system management, virtualization and private cloud platform based on System Center and Hyper-V.

The Veeam Management Pack (MP) extends Microsoft System Center Operations Manager monitoring to VMware, eliminating the need for a separate monitoring framework.

Veeam Backup & Replication provides advanced backup and recovery of Hyper-V virtual machines, and Veeam ONE delivers affordable, easy-to-use monitoring and reporting for Hyper-V to SMB virtualization administrators.

Veeam's free promotion of the Management Pack tied to System Center 2012 helps customers reduce costs, mitigate risk and fully realize the benefits of virtualization based on System Center, while offering partners a compelling solution that expands System Center licensing and professional services.

For partners who may not have thought about your company since the last WPC, what would they need to know about what you've been up to for the past 12 months?
In the last year, Veeam has brought support for Hyper-V to Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE, giving Hyper-V users the same award-winning, industry-leading backup, replication and management solutions that VMware vSphere users have been raving about for years. What's more, IT pros who run VMware and Hyper-V can protect and manage both from within Veeam's solutions. At [Microsoft Management Summit] 2012, Veeam introduced a free 10-socket Management Pack (MP10P) to new Veeam MP customers who are implementing System Center 2012. The promotion includes licensing for 10 sockets and the first year of support free, providing customers deep monitoring of their VMware environment directly from System Center. VARs and System Integrators benefit by showcasing management of hybrid private clouds without needing separate monitoring frameworks for Hyper-V and VMware.

Out of your entire product portfolio, what's the product or service that Microsoft partners should be aware of right now?
Microsoft partners can take advantage of the Veeam MP to extend System Center Operations Manager to deeply monitor 175-plus VMware performance metrics and 500-plus events. With the advent of System Center 2012, and Windows Server 2012, Microsoft partners can help customers realize the promise of cloud computing, and a key starting point for partners is to design and deploy cross-platform monitoring of both Hyper-V and VMware virtual environments leveraging the Veeam MP and System Center. Customers benefit from improved service delivery, risk mitigation and cost containment; partners benefit from the licensing and the professional services opportunities this new paradigm presents.

For partners working with SMBs, it's Veeam Backup & Replication. It's Veeam's flagship product, the No. 1 backup and replication product for VMware, and it's now available for Hyper-V. There's also a free version, Veeam Backup Free Edition, which enables IT pros to make ad-hoc backups of an entire VM that takes up so little space, they can even be stored on a USB drive.

Are you announcing anything at WPC?
No announcements at WPC, but we are very pleased to say that Veeam was selected as Microsoft's Management and Virtualization Partner of the Year.

What should Microsoft partners keep an eye out for from your company over the next year?
Innovation. In the last year Veeam introduced support for Hyper-V in Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE. The Veeam MP is playing a key role in Microsoft's strategy for System Center.

For more than five years, Veeam has led the way in realizing the full potential of virtualization in data protection and management. It will continue to do so in the coming year.

Why should someone visit your booth this year (free stuff, amazing demo, contest, promotion, etc.)?
Attendees should visit the Veeam booth to see why Veeam was selected as Microsoft's Management and Virtualization Partner of the Year. Travel adapters will be the free swag, and there will be a raffle for a Samsung Slate Tablet.

As a company, what are your goals for WPC this year?
Veeam sells 100 percent through the channel. Veeam will use its 2012 Microsoft Partner of the Year award for Management and Virtualization at WPC as a platform to deepen and expand its relationships with Microsoft VARs and resellers.

What's the profile of the ideal partner you're hoping to connect with at WPC this year?
Veeam would like to connect with two types of partners.

For partners who sell to IT pros at SMBs, Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE are affordable, powerful tools that are simple to manage.

For partners who sell Microsoft System Center to large enterprises, the Veeam MP enables System Center to provide very deep monitoring and reporting of the VMware environment, giving their customers the ability to manage their entire IT infrastructure from a single platform.

Who are some of your team members a partner might meet at your booth (names and titles)?
Chris Henley, product strategy specialist; Rick Vanover, product strategy specialist; Peter Worsnop, global alliance manager.

For partners' post-show follow-up, who should they contact?
Peter Worsnop, global alliance manager; Lora Deeds, public relations manager.
