Microsoft Mixes Messages on Patents

On one hand, Redmond is barking about open source software violating its patents, but on the other hand, Microsoft -- no stranger to losing big patent judgments itself lately -- wants Congress to make it tougher for patent holders to sue and collect huge damages. Spend the rest of the week trying to make sense of all of that.

Meanwhile, Google, which runs lots and lots of open source software, is watching Microsoft's patent saber-ratting cautiously.
