Nerdio Aims To Simplify (and AI-ify) Windows 365 Management

Longtime Microsoft partner Nerdio is expanding its capabilities for managing Windows 365 with the launch of Nerdio Manager for Enterprise 7.0.

This latest release, announced earlier this month, brings new planning, automation and cost-saving features, along with deeper integration with Microsoft Intune, aimed at simplifying the full cloud desktop lifecycle.

Nerdio positions its platform -- which is built for IT teams overseeing Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 environments -- as a unified management experience. It combines automation, AI-powered insights, and security enhancements to help organizations streamline operations, reduce overhead, and support hybrid workforces more efficiently.

An April 8 news release said Nerdio Manager for Enterprise 7.0 extends management for organizations by:

  • Accelerating planning and migration with intelligent modeling, app migration tools, and automated workflows that simplify the shift from on-premises infrastructure or existing VDI solutions to Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Increasing visibility into environments with enhanced usage dashboards and Intune Insights that surface critical data across endpoints and cloud desktops.
  • Enhancing management through built-in remote support, streamlined image management, and granular RBAC controls for secure, efficient administration at scale.
  • Optimizing costs with AI-powered licensing recommendations and usage analytics that help right-size resources and prevent overspending.

"Windows 365 is designed to give organizations a seamless, scalable, and secure Cloud PC experience," the company quoted Scott Manchester, VP of product, Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop, at Microsoft, as saying. "With Nerdio Manager for Enterprise 7.0, IT teams now have the automation and optimization tools to accelerate their transition to Windows 365, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness at every stage."

Specific highlights of v7.0 include:

  • Smarter Windows 365 Management: Enhanced capabilities through automation, AI, and data-driven insights.
  • Nerdio DaaS Modeler: Analyzes workload data and recommends optimal Cloud PC sizing and license types with cost projections.
  • Automated AVD to Windows 365 Migration: UI-driven wizard with bulk actions for seamless user migration.
  • Nerdio Advisor Right-Sizing: AI-powered analysis of usage patterns with recommendations for resource adjustments.
  • Nerdio Advisor License Suitability: Scans for inactive/underutilized licenses and suggests reallocation.
  • Nerdio Advisor Platform TCO Analysis: Compares the total cost of ownership between AVD and Windows 365.
  • Intune Insights: Centralized dashboard for monitoring device compliance, patching status, application usage, and warranty expiration.
  • CIS Intune Policy Templates: Pre-configured security settings aligned with industry best practices.
  • Remote IT Support (Console Connect): Secure, in-session remote troubleshooting without third-party tools.

"These updates represent a meaningful shift in how Windows 365 environments are managed at scale," the company said in an April 8 blog post. "Instead of juggling disconnected tools, making blind decisions about licensing, or spending hours on manual tasks, they now have access to a centralized platform that does the heavy lifting. Nerdio Manager for Enterprise 7 delivers greater visibility, smarter automation, and simplified workflows, helping IT teams support hybrid users more effectively, reduce time spent on routine operations, and make confident, data-driven decisions. Whether you're managing hundreds or thousands of Cloud PCs, this release is about making your job easier and your environment more predictable."
