Copilot in Viva Glint Now at Private Preview

Microsoft plans to release a private preview of Copilot in Viva Glint, starting this month, per an announcement.

Glint is an employee survey application created by the careers site LinkedIn. Microsoft bought LinkedIn back in 2016 and Glint was added to the Viva Suite product last year. Viva is the umbrella product name for Microsoft's "employee experience platform," consisting of various applications that surface within Microsoft Teams.

The idea behind using the generative AI Copilot solution in Viva Glint is to permit organizations to sift through employee survey responses by writing queries. A video in Microsoft's announcement showed how Copilot can be used to get nuances from a survey of more than 3,000 people, mostly by using the integrated prompts in Copilot. The private preview currently can "summarize all comments, comments by survey item, comments by sentiment, comments by filter attribute(s), and prescriptive comments," the announcement explained.

Microsoft has another survey application, called Viva Pulse, for polling team members, while Viva Glint typically gets described as an employee survey tool. Organizations buying the Viva Suite get both Viva Pulse and Viva Glint, along with six other Viva apps, as shown in a Microsoft feature comparison table.

Organizations wanting to join the Copilot in Viva Glint private preview will have to meet certain qualifications. They'll need to be already using the Viva Glint software, for instance, and have generated survey content. They'll also need to opt into the Viva Customer Connection Program.

The private preview is just available in English, although Microsoft is working on expanded language support. Organizations should contact their "Viva Glint Customer Experience Program Manager" or "Microsoft sales representative" if they want to join the private preview.
