Microsoft Releases Office 365 Admin Apps for iOS, Android

Microsoft's mobile app for Office 365 administrators is now available for devices based on Google Android and Apple iOS.
The Office 365 Admin app lets users monitor the status of Office 365 services from their mobile devices. Microsoft had promised to release versions of the apps supporting Android 4.2.1 and Apple iOS 7 mobile devices last month, following its release of the Windows Phone 8 version.
The app is an alternative tool that administrators can use on top of their Office 365 Service Health Dashboard accounts for monitoring service status. However, no admin functions can be carried out using the app, according to reviews.
The recently updated Android Office 365 app supports devices running Android 3.2 and later versions and can be downloaded at the Google Play store here. The Apple iOS Office 365 app supports devices running iOS 6.1 and later versions and can be accessed at this Apple Store page. The Windows Phone 8 app is available at this page.
Neither of the apps currently supports Windows Azure Active Directory Multifactor Authentication. Microsoft's multifactor authentication service, which imposes additional security checks on remote access to corporate resources, was rolled out in September.
In order to use the Office 365 Admin apps, users are required to have administrator privileges. They also have to have an active Office 365 subscription, according to Microsoft's announcement.
