Lucid8 Ships Updated Exchange Maintenance Package

Lucid8 is shipping version 3.1 of its GOexchange automated Exchange maintenance product. The update adds a new graphical interface that uses Microsoft’s management console, new advanced configurations options, scheduled automated system maintenance, and integration with enterprise backup solutions from Computer Associates, CommVault, Veritas, UltraBac and Microsoft.
One key new feature enables administrators to manage from one to more than 100 servers from one centralized console.
GOexchange, which first came out in 1998, was designed to enable systems managers to work to prevent systems disasters in advance through preventive maintenance. “[Customers told us] we spend a horrendous amount of time [recovering] after systems have imploded, so we need to be more proactive about it,” says Troy Werelius, CEO of Bellevue, Wash.-based Lucid8 LLC.
“GOexchange 3.1 ensures consistent and flawless Exchange system maintenance execution that increases performance and stability, improves productivity and drastically reduces storage requirements such as information store size, as well as administration and maintenance time,” the company says in published statements.
GOexchange 3.1 pricing runs from $600 to $6,000 per server based on the number of mailboxes, according to Werelius. It works with Microsoft Exchange 5.5, 2000 and 2003.
