EMC Announces Scaleable Storage Solutions

EMC Corp. announced two storage products, EMC Extractor and EMC ResourcePak, that provide scaleable solutions for the Windows 2000 Datacenter Server, SQL Server 2000 and Exchange Server 2000 platforms.

Extractor allows Windows NT and 2000 users with access to information residing on mainframe DB2 relational databases at speeds up to seven times faster than traditional access methods. Using the OLE DB interface, Windows applications access data directly from the EMC Symmetrix Enterprise Storage system. ResourcePak provides productivity-enhancing components for Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 environments, particularly SQL Server 2000 customers. It includes the TimeFinder SQL Server Integration Module, which automates mirrored copies of active production volumes in mainframe or open source system processing.
