Winternals Rolls Out ERD Commander 2000

Winternals Software has made available its ERD Commander 2000 system recovery utility. The utility gives administrators the ability to boot a downed Windows NT or 2000 system from floppy disks, CD-ROM, or the hard drive in order to make repairs.

ERD Commander 2000 boots into a console-mode version of Windows NT/2000, where adminsitrators can use familiar commands to access and modify any file on the system, including those on NTFS and FAT drives.

ERD Commander 2000 can use batch files to edit the registry, allowing a predefined sequence of commands to be executed. This feature allows administrators to build custom repair and recovery scripts.
