White Sands to Release ProActive DBA 5.0

White Sands Technology Corp. has announced it will release ProActive DBA 5.0. The new product is a space management system created to help database administrators (DBAs) with maintenance, tuning, and problem solving of databases.

Designed to work with Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and Microsoft SQL Server databases, ProActive DBA automatically executes administration tasks on a scheduled basis. The new product also performs diagnostic analysis so the DBA can recognize and repair performance problems.

Some of ProActive DBA's new features include reports that forecast future maintenance schedules; capacity planning reports that allow DBAs to predict database growth rates and determine future hardware and space requirements; and a disaster recovery/data verification option that enables the user to identify corrupt data and recover lost data.

ProActive DBA 5.0 will be available on September 15 in four editions depending on the DBA's skill level. Standard pricing begins at $1,495.
