Storactive Offers Windows 2000 Migration Tool

Storactive Corp., whose products generally revolve around backup and data recovery, has released a tool designed for Windows 2000 migrations.

Storactive LiveBackup 2.0 Migration Assistant works with the migration wizards in Windows 2000 to monitor the movement of data in a migration. Like their tools for automated backups, LiveBackup preserves the data of one computer when it is moved to a different computer, while minimizing redundant data. In addition, the Windows 2000 tool preserves the user setting of the old machine on the new, migrated machine.

The entire process can be automated and performed remotely with little user intervention.

Many Windows 2000 migrations will be accompanied by mass hardware upgrades, so LiveBackup could be instrumental in a smooth migration and hardware upgrade.
