Connectix Connects Mac and Windows 2000 Users

Connectix Corp. has expanded its Virtual PC product line to include versions for Windows 2000 and Linux. Virtual PC bridges PCs and Macs by allowing Mac users to run Windows applications, access PC networks, and share Windows files.

The latest release of Virtual PC 3.0 includes extensive USB support, faster network access, shared Internet connection between Mac and PC, AppleScript support, and seamless PC compatibility. Virtual PC 3.0 also offers full Ethernet support, including Novell NetWare IPX, TCP/IP, Microsoft Networking, and others. Additionally, Virtual PC 3.0 includes SoundBlaster Pro support, a new Setup Assistant, and Configuration Manager.

Virtual PC will be available in five different versions: Linux, Windows 95, 98, 2000, and PC-DOS. All five versions include a pre-installed and pre-configured PC operating system. The two new versions are due to ship at the end of Q1.
