Isocor Upgrades Directory, Messaging Offerings

Isocor, a messaging, directory, and meta-directory provider, announced simultaneous releases of MetaConnect 2, an expanded version of its meta-directory solution, and N-Plex Global 4.5, an enhanced version of its Internet messaging server. Secure socket layer (SSL) security is a key feature of both new products.

The new version of MetaConnect, available for both Sun Solaris and Windows NT, provides mechanisms for group management and account creation in connected applications. It adds connector support for Lotus Domino 5.0 and IBM DB2, allowing propagation of information from those sources to the meta-directory. MetaConnect brings Microsoft Active Directory and SSL support from the connectors.

N-Plex Global server's new features include SSL, the Group Account Manager for domain-level management, high availability for both Network Appliances NFS and Sun hardware, support for archiving filtered messages, per-user message store tracking, and allows users the ability to enter a stop date for their vacation reply message. N-Plex Global offers Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Post Office Protocol (POP3) and Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP4) messaging.
