Oracle Corp. is continuing on its road to be an e-commerce migrator, this time with an agreement to work with I-Storm Inc. (
www.i-storm.com), an outsourcing e-commerce capabilities company. Together, the two companies will offer services to Fortune 500 companies waging aggressive e-commerce campaigns.
Just last month, Oracle released a program called FastForward, designed to transform static companies to e-commerce stores in under a month (see story in the July 19 issue of ENT).
With the new agreement, I-Storm will use Oracle’s latest 8i as well as Oracle Applications Release 11. Companies can contact I-Storm to create and manage storefronts, credit card validation, shipping and handling, Web site hosting and other needs. Those businesses can also outsource these services directly to I-Storm.
Oracle will provide the consulting services in getting the work done. "We are working with I-Storm to provide integration services to Fortune 500 companies for getting their businesses online," said Oracle vice president of consulting Keith Costello in a company release today. "In doing so, we will further add to our capability to build successful online selling channels while helping I-Storm achieve its business and technology objectives." -- Brian Ploskina
