Microsoft Unifies Marketplaces, Adds AI Apps and Agents Category

Microsoft has relaunched its Marketplace, merging AppSource and Azure Marketplace into a single platform that now features a dedicated category for AI apps and agents. The reimagined portal features over 3,000 AI-driven solutions from partners, all governed by Microsoft’s existing compliance and security controls. The Marketplace is integrated directly into Microsoft products, allowing customers to discover, provision and deploy partner solutions without leaving the cloud environment.

The update reflects the growing role of marketplaces in enterprise IT procurement. By spotlighting AI agents, software designed to act autonomously in workflows, Microsoft positions its Marketplace as both a distribution channel and an AI adoption accelerator. The solution aims to bring Azure sales towards customer cloud commitments that can bring long-term deals.
