AmberPoint is now a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, having passed Microsoft's competency test in ISV/Software Solutions.
Gold status means that Microsoft will provide a level of training and support that will give AmberPoint a leg up in getting contracts using Microsoft technologies.
AmberPoint produces runtime governance software that manages loosely coupled applications in a service-oriented architecture (SOA). The software abstracts the management layer to monitor the whole system. It detects when new services are added to the registry and monitors them.
The company's SOA Management System uses a "noninvasive approach" that doesn't interfere with an enterprise's services, according to company literature. The system provides support for Java and .NET.
Gold partner status comes after AmberPoint worked with Microsoft for five years. In February of this year, AmberPoint announced participation in the Microsoft Business Process Alliance, another partner-driven effort. In particular, the two companies worked together to produce solutions using AmberPoint's SOA Management System and Microsoft's BizTalk Server.
AmberPoint's solution is Microsoft certified and runs on the Microsoft .NET framework. The solution ships with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and integrates with Microsoft Operations Manager and Microsoft SQL Sever.
Outside the Microsoft sphere, AmberPoint has had success getting funded and collaborating with other partners.
Last month, business solutions provider SAP AG contributed to AmberPoint's $9 million additional funding effort. Also in April, enterprise software provider BEA agreed to resell AmberPoint's SOA Management System as part of the BEA AquaLogic product family.
AmberPoint's solutions are being used by more than 100 customers in industries such as financial services, government, healthcare and telecom, according to an announcement issued by the company.
