BizTalk Server 2000 Beta Now Available

Microsoft Corp. today announced the public availability of the beta version of BizTalk Server 2000, a member of the .NET Enterprise Server family of products. BizTalk Server 2000 will make it easier to orchestrate the next generation of Internet-based business solutions.

BizTalk Server 2000 will unite enterprise application integration (EAI), business-to-business integration, and BizTalk Orchestration technology to allow developers, IT professionals, and business analysts to build dynamic business processes that span applications, platforms, and businesses over the Internet.

BizTalk Server 2000 will offer a broad new set of tools for orchestration of applications and business solutions. BizTalk Orchestration technology builds on the Visio diagramming platform to provide a graphical environment for building dynamic, distributed business processes, and an advanced orchestration engine for executing and managing those processes. BizTalk Server 2000 provides tools to integrate applications and businesses both behind the firewall and across the Internet using XML.

BizTalk Server also supports several transports and protocols in addition to XML, including EDI, HTTP, HTTPS, Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ), SMTP, and flat file transfer. Additionally, BizTalk Server 2000 supports industry standard security technologies suck as public key encryption (PKE) and digital signatures. - Isaac Slepner
