Winternals Releases Remote Recover 1.1

Winternals Software LP released its Remote Recover 1.1 suite of Windows 2000 utilities. Previously, Remote Recover utilities were only available for Windows NT 4.0.

Remote Recover allows administrators to access NTFS-based systems throughout a network from a single host machine, enabling easy reconfiguration, repair, and reinstallation of remote computer systems. Remote Recover does not require an operating system to be installed on the target machine in order to function.

New features to Remote Recover 1.1 include built-in support for DHCP, allowing client TCP/IP to be performed automatically at boot time; support for ASPI; addition of an optional password system when accessing a client machine; the ability to download the NT 4.0 MS Client files from Microsoft's Web site rather than from the CD-ROM; and improved diagnostic information displayed by the client.
