Moving onward and upward from its recent acquisition of Wall Data, NetManage Inc. is partnering with Microsoft to produce a version of the NetManage OnWeb e-Business Integrator Application Server to run on Microsoft's upcoming SNA Server code-named Babylon.
NetManage (www.netmanage.com) will utilize the Babylon Software Developer Kit (SDK) environment to produce a new product that will allow its users to develop and deploy new server-based e-business applications that will leverage existing mainframe host applications and data. The NetManage product, which will run on top of Babylon, will allow applications to be completed based on standard Microsoft (www.microsoft.com) Windows DNA 2000 technology.
NetManage will also utilize the Babylon SDKs to host a version of its OnWeb e-Business Integrator Application Server and OnWeb e-Business Designer graphical development environment. The resulting combined product will give users the ability to develop applications based on existing enterprise data that could, for example, address supply and demand chain e-business requirements, allowing corporations to link with their business partners and customers. -- Isaac Slepner
