Axent Releases New VPN

Axent Technologies Inc. has introduced PowerVPN, a virtual private networking (VPN) solution with one-step connect and configure installation and a personal firewall that protects always-on Internet connections such as DSL or cable modem.

The PowerVPN Server enables system administrators to specify security policies that filter encrypted network traffic through applications proxies. One-step configure remotely installs and updates PowerVPN Mobile client policies. Additionally, a personal firewall protects users with always-on connections from network attacks.

PowerVPN features a proxy-based security architecture that scans all traffic at the application level to deliver inspection and control over Internet traffic. It works with many firewalls and supports several protocols and standards, including LDAP and NT Domain; X.509 PKI support for digital certificates; International Computer Security Association (ICSA) certification; and IPSec/Internet Key Exchange (IKE) support that lets the PowerVPN connect with other certified VPN solutions.
