Internet Security Systems (ISS) today announced a security assessment solution for measuring, managing and enforcing security policies. System Scanner version 4.0, a component of ISS' set of network, database and system security risk assessment solutions, can be implemented across a wide range of operating systems.
System Scanner leverages ISS' X-Force Security Knowledge Base to scan systems automatically, applying a comprehensive set of security vulnerability checks and policy rules to quickly identify security risks. Security assessments made by System Scanner can be either centralized or distributed. Hundreds of servers can be grouped together for ease of management, yet variances can be granted on a single machine basis.
The new version of System Scanner includes several key features. Among these are automatic and customizable security policy compliance checks, centralized enterprise management, comprehensive platform support, and automatic and rapid release of new security tests ensuring ongoing information protection from the latest security risks. Other features include customizable security policy, centralized enterprise management, instant alerts of security breaches, easy integration with other ISS software, and frequent updates. System Scanner 4.0 is currently available.
