Accenture, Microsoft Broaden AI‑Based Cybersecurity Alliance

Accenture and Microsoft recently announced an expanded partnership around AI‑powered cybersecurity solutions designed to help customers combat increasingly sophisticated attacks.

Their collaboration targets four key areas: modernizing security operation centers (SOCs) via Microsoft Sentinel, Defender and Accenture's Adaptive MxDR; automating data protection and AI security across Microsoft 365 with Purview; streamlining cloud migrations and tool consolidation; and improving identity and access management using Microsoft Entra.

The initiative addresses a finding from Accenture's State of Cyber Resilience 2025 report that 90 percent of organizations are unprepared for AI‑driven cyberattacks, underscoring an industrywide shortfall in readiness for emerging threats. Accenture's survey revealing that 36 percent of firms believe AI outpaces their security.

"The combined power of Accenture and Microsoft will help clients future-proof against potential cyber threats, keep critical data secure and enhance business resilience," said Paolo Dal Cin, global security lead at Accenture. "This expanded relationship signals to the industry that we can be stronger together."
