Copilot in Power Apps Now Generally Available

Microsoft commercially released Copilot in Power Apps, per a Wednesday announcement.
Copilot in Power Apps was released as a preview earlier this year, and Microsoft estimated that since its initial release that "more than 126,000 organizations have already started using Copilot across the Power Platform."
The artificial intelligence capabilities of Copilot in Power Apps offer help to application builders, based on the data source being used. However, Microsoft stressed that "Copilot in Power Apps only accesses your company’s data and information locally." The data do not get shared with the large language model used by Copilot.
Per the announcement, Copilot in Power Apps can:
- Create and import data tables
- Design app screens, and
- Publish and share an app.
Copilot in Power Apps also will make suggestions and offer developer tips. Microsoft suggested that using Copilot in Power Apps would improve the success rate of app development projects and make it quicker to "build apps over data from Excel."
Copilot in Power Apps is currently available in English only, and it can be used by licensees in the United States and Switzerland. Power Apps users in other countries can tap Copilot, too, but it involves consenting to sharing data across geographical boundaries, as described in this Microsoft document. The document also described how to disable Copilot in Power Apps using the Power Platform Admin Center portal.
Microsoft stated that "Copilot is available for all makers regardless of license," but the exact licensing details weren't described.
