Microsoft Partners Get Open Licensing for Windows Intune

Microsoft solution providers will now be able to bill their customers directly for using Windows Intune.

The cloud-based device management service is available through Microsoft's Open Volume Licensing program, Microsoft announced on Monday. Open Licensing lets partners subscribe to the Windows Intune service on behalf of their customers and then bill the customers themselves. The program makes it easier for partners to bundle Windows Intune with other services.

"This is a great opportunity for 'traditional partners' looking to transition their business from pure on-premises solutions, to hybrid and Cloud based scenarios," wrote Microsoft's Jeff Stoffel in a blog post.

Windows Intune with Open Licensing will be "available through Open as an annual purchase with an ERP of $6 per month per seat," according to Stoffel.

Microsoft announced back in January that Windows Intune would be available with Open Licensing starting this spring. Other services available with Open Licensing include Power BI and Office 365.
