Plano, Texas-based Microsoft hosting partner Layered Tech launched a cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics offering for U.S. government agencies earlier this month.
The solution, dubbed Microsoft Dynamics Government Cloud, has been specifically designed to meet security and compliance requirements unique to federal agencies, according to a joint announcement by Microsoft and Layered Tech. The offering meets the requirements of both the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and the government-specific requirements of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
The Microsoft Dynamics Government Cloud datasheet (.PDF) offers more details regarding the offering's FISMA compliance.
"[T]he Layered Tech environment includes a single-tenancy private cloud with dedicated hardware and physical storage for the tightest security requirements, as well as a federal-only infrastructure environment to take advantage of increased scalability and efficiency and reduced costs associated with public cloud computing," the two companies said.
The new offering will include a "diverse set of Microsoft Dynamics solutions," including those to help agencies manage emergency-response activities, intelligence-gathering and Freedom of Information Act requests.
Layered Tech has also formed a Solutions Advisory Committee aimed at Dynamics partners that want to implement its solution for government customers. Participating partners include Accenture, Catapult Systems and Green Beacon Solutions.
