HP Names New Channel Chief

Enrique Lores, a 20-year HP veteran who joined the company in 1988 as an R&D engineer, will take over HP's channel program and worldwide PC sales, replacing Jim McDonnell, who earlier moved to a different position within the company

HP this week named Lores, 42, senior vice president of worldwide sales for its Personal Systems Group (PSG) and head of its Solutions Partner Organization. He reports directly to PSG Executive Vice President Todd Bradley and reports indirectly to Ann Livermore, executive vice president of the Technology Solutions Group and Vyomesh Josh, executive vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group.

Lores was general manager and vice president of the InkJet Commercial Division with an office in Barcelona, Spain. He will move to HP's Silicon Valley offices for his new post.

As chief of HP's channel, Lores will be responsible for relationships with HP's 145,000 commercial channel partners worldwide across all HP business divisions. On the Personal Systems Group side, Lores oversees worldwide sales of business desktops, notebooks, workstations, client virtualization products and related services and support.

McDonnell currently leads global sales programs for the Enterprise Storage and Servers business unit of the Technology Solutions Group.
