Finnish, British Police Arrest Suspected Virus Spammers

Police in Britain and Finland have arrested three men suspected of conspiring to spread computer viruses through spamming, Metropolitan Police said.

The suspects are a 63-year-old man in England, a 28-year-old man in Scotland and a 19-year-old man in Finland, police said.

"These men appear to be connected via an online company. We believe the suspects created and adapted viruses with the aim of causing massive infection by spamming," said Detective Constable Bob Burls, of the Metropolitan Police Computer Crime Unit.

The Finnish National Bureau of Investigation and the Finnish Pori Police Department cooperated in the investigation.
