Compuware To Ship Development Tool for Visual Studio
Compuware will begin shipping an updated development tool next week that aims
to help application development groups produce better code and achieve higher
productivity, the company announced at Microsoft's TechEd 2006 conference
in Boston.
DevPartner Studio 8.1 adds work-item integration with Microsoft Visual Studio
Team (VSTS) Foundation Server, an embeddable data collection agent to help solve
configuration issues, and automated enforcement of .NET coding standards and
best practices, according to statements by Detroit-based Compuware.
The company's application delivery products are designed to help developers
build, test and manage high-quality applications using Microsoft technologies.
With version 8.1, DevPartner studio gives development and testing teams the
ability to submit defect work items from DevPartner Studio directly to Team
Foundation Server. Additionally, the Studio System Comparison Facility helps
identify configuration issues in deployed applications.
Data collection functionality can now be embedded in production applications,
royalty free, with the new Snapshot Software Development Kit, the company said.
It also features new customizable code analysis sessions capabilities, as well
as enhanced support for customized coding standards.
Compuware's DevPartner Studio 8.1 starts at $2,300 per seat. It is scheduled
to be available for download on Monday.
