Microsoft Has 2 Security Bulletins on Tap for Next Week

Microsoft plans to release two security bulletins next week addressing a critical vulnerability in Office and an important flaw in Windows, the company said Thursday.

Microsoft advised users of the upcoming bulletins through its Microsoft Security Bulletin Advance Notification program. The advance notifications arrive on the Thursday before Microsoft's monthly Patch Tuesday, which falls on the second Tuesday of the month -- in this case March 14.

The bulletin for Office may require a restart. The Windows bulletin will not require a restart.

Microsoft also plans to release an updated version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and one non-security, high-priority update that will be distributed on Microsoft Update and Windows Server Update Services.

Microsoft occasionally releases more or fewer bulletins on Patch Tuesday than it advised users of the previous week.
