Winternals releases network security solution Protection Manager.

Winternals Software today announced the release of Protection Manager, a centrally administered security solution for the Windows enterprise.

Protection Manager provides granular control of user and application privilege levels and blocks all unauthorized executables, including viruses, worms and other malware. The program is installed on a central console and deployed to clients throughout the network.

"Two of the most prevalent threats to Windows security are malicious software attacks and the fact that end-users must often run with administrative rights," said Mark Russinovich, co-founder and chief software architect of Winternals. "Protection Manager is the first solution capable of defeating those threats through an approach that prevents all unauthorized applications from executing, merged with a least privilege environment that provides the minimum necessary user access rights."

Protection Manager supports Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003 computers. The solution is licensed by server and workstation, and available now directly from Winternals and resellers. For additional product information go here.

Winternals is a provider of systems recovery and protection solutions for Microsoft-based enterprises, and is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.
