Layton Offers Consultant Pricing on Audit Tool

Layton Technology has announced new consultant pricing for its auditing and
asset management tool, enabling service providers to conduct audits at multiple
client sites under a single product license.
For the minimum purchase of 1,000 PCs, the consultancy license costs $2.50
per PC. For 1,001 to 2,000 PCs it costs $2 per PC and above 2,000 they go for
$1.50 each. It doesn’t matter how many different organizations may actually
own those PCs and the licenses are valid for one year. Pricing includes support,
updates and new versions released within the license timeframe.
That pricing is significantly less than what Layton charges for end-user company
licenses, where prices range from $5.90 per PC in bundles of 50 licenses to
$2.99 for the 500-PC Enterprise Pack.
Layton’s AuditWizard can audit all hardware, software and peripheral
devices on a network, including mobile and USB devices. It uses either NetBIOS,
SNMP or the Windows Management Instrumentation protocol to discover devices
and stores the resulting data in a central PC or server database. AuditWizard
can detect system make and model, serial number, operating system, memory configuration,
applications and directories. It can also detect what files are stored on a
device, including USB storage devices -- a potentially important security consideration.
AuditWizard comes with a reporting tool that enables providers to produce asset
and inventory reports for their clients.
