Microsoft put IT departments on alert Thursday that its monthly patch bundle, scheduled for next Tuesday, will be a monster.
According to the Microsoft Security Response Center's Bulletin Notification, the company plans seven security bulletins for Windows and one security bulletin each for Windows and Microsoft Services for Unix; Exchange; and Internet Security & Acceleration Server and Small Business Server.
At least one, and possibly more, of the Windows-related security bulletins will be for critical flaws, the e-mail notification said. The bulletin affecting Windows and Services for Unix will fix a moderate vulnerability. The Exchange bulletin is for an important vulnerability. The ISA Server and Small Business Server bulletin treats a moderate flaw.
Microsoft also plans to release an updated version of the Malicious Software Removal Tool, but will not release any non-security high-priority updates for Windows on Tuesday.
