Microsoft will post three security bulletins for flaws in Windows next Tuesday. At least one of the bulletins will cover a critical flaw.
The company made the disclosure on Thursday as part of its three-month-old Microsoft Advanced Security Bulletin Notification program, which consists of a Web site and e-mailed notices.
Under the program, Microsoft now provides all customers with a vague summary of upcoming bulletins three days before the monthly "Patch Tuesday" event. The idea is to help IT administrators make rough plans to prepare to patch systems. The notices include the number of bulletins Microsoft expects to release, the products affected and the maximum severity of the flaws.
