Office 2004 for Mac to RTM Soon

Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac will be released to manufacturing on April 14, Microsoft said this week. General availability is planned for the third week in May.

Four resellers began taking preorders for Microsoft's Office suite for the Apple Macintosh platform on Tuesday.

A few weeks after the RTM of the English version, Microsoft plans to release to manufacturing six localized versions of Office 2004 for Mac -- French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Swedish.

The release comes roughly six months after the formal launch of the Office 2003 suite for Windows platforms.
