(LAS VEGAS) Comdex was once the biggest of the big, the monster of all U.S.-based computer trade shows. Only Cebit in Germany, which was a much broader based show, could even touch it.

Today, Comdex is a mere shadow of its former self. In the mid-90s, exhibits were strewn all over Vegas, from the Sands to the Hilton – and everywhere were hospitality suites packed with executives, coffee, and expensive cheese platters. And if you wanted a splashy product launch, why Comdex was the only way to go.
