NetIQ Corp. on Tuesday announced a step toward integrating its security products so they can be used more seamlessly to address a broader swath of security issues facing the enterprise.
NetIQ unveiled its Security Management Suite, which combines NetIQ Security Manager, NetIQ Vulnerability Manager and NetIQ Patch Manager.
"There are still a lot of silos even within security," said Matt Dircks, vice president of Security Management Products. "Enabling an agile, closed-loop approach to managing security is a key pillar of our go-forward strategy."
Security Manager, now in version 5.0, is NetIQ's product for intrusion detection and prevention, centralized real-time event monitoring and incident response. It is available today.
Vulnerability Manager 5.0, formerly called VigilEnt Security Manager, provides tools for notification of problems involving security vulnerabilities, policy non-compliance and violation of regulations. The new version, which will ship later this quarter, is greatly enhanced through a partnership with TruSecure that provides real-time data on new security vulnerabilities for various platforms.
Patch Manager 4.2 is Shavlik's HFNetChkPro 4.2 now sold under a NetIQ brand. NetIQ formerly resold the product with Shavlik's brand. In the future, the companies plan to work together to more fully integrate NetIQ Patch Manager with NetIQ Vulnerability Manager.
NetIQ Security Manager starts at $2,500 for the console and $1,100 per server. Vulnerability Manager also starts at $2,500 for the console but servers are $1,155 each. Patch Manager starts at $2,000 for 100 server packs and one console, with additional consoles priced at $500 each.
