OSA’s NetDeploy Leverages Active Directory

Open Software Associates announced the availability of NetDeploy Global, a suite of software management and deployment products and services based on Microsoft Active Directory.

NetDeploy Global manages software on local networks and over the Internet for remote offices, mobile workers, and the extended enterprise. NetDeploy allows organizations to utilize Windows 2000 and Active Directory even in highly heterogeneous environments.

NetDeploy Global bases management on software usage profiles and deployment policies scalable from the individual user to the enterprise. It covers the entire application lifecycle, including acquisition into the corporate software warehouse, pre-release testing, publishing by policy, self-healing installation, automatic updating, reporting, and eventual decommissioning.

NetDeploy Global stores deployment metadata in the Active Directory and provides policy editing within Microsoft’s Group Policy. The software operates securely through firewalls, and includes a number of defined service packages.
