Compaq Computer Corp. extended its portfolio of high availability services for key applications to ensure continuous computing for enterprise customers. The new services unveiled today include services to help customers manage mySAP.com operations as well as systems and networks.
Compaq's (www.compaq.com) approach to achieving and maintaining required levels of availability combines a balance of technology, management practices, and services with a focus on the six "domains" of a customer's IT environment including the hardware, software, network, applications, physical environment, and operations management. The services are targeted at customers in a variety of industries.
Today's new high availability services include availability assessment services for R/3, designed to support R/3 solutions with up to 500 users. The services also include availability monitoring service for R/3, providing regular availability reports to the customer with recommendations that help the customer manage the availability and performance of their R/3 applications on NT and Windows 2000 platforms; availability monitoring service for systems, providing remote monitoring and critical trend information to customers; and availability monitoring service for networks. - Isaac Slepner
