Automatic speech recognition and text-to-speech technology will be two of the new features of Intersis' VoiXX 2.5 voice recognition software for Microsoft Exchange. VoiXX 2.5 will integrate advanced speech technologies from Lernout & Hauspie, a specialist in speech and linguistic products.
VoiXX 2.5 is designed to integrate a user's various messages by allowing the user to access voice or e-mail messages via Microsoft Exchange or Outlook or by telephone. When a user receives an e-mail or voice message in their inbox, VoiXX can automatically call the user on their cellular phone and play the message, or use text-to-speech technology to read the message to the user. The user can then reply to the message vocally and VoiXX sends the reply to the original sender via e-mail.
VoiXX will be available with six languages in addition to English. A Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server edition will also be available. VoiXX 2.5 ships next month.
