Hewlett-Packard Co. is announcing today a suite of HP NetServer Assured Availability solutions based on its own systems and teamed up with Marathon Technologies' (
www.marathontechnologies.com) Assured Availability technology.
The deal gives HP a continuously available general-purpose Windows NT Server-based system that will continue computing through component failures, hot swaps and blue screens. The solution utilizes Marathon's No Touch Recovery to automatically assimilate components into the HP NetServer array and restore full redundancy without additional configuration.
"[HP and Marathon's] focus on this marketplace is confirmation of the demand for Windows NT Server-based solutions in mission-critical environments supporting important enterprise applications," says Ed Muth, enterprise marketing group manager.
Terms of the alliance between HP and Marathon Technologies include a multiyear, multiproduct worldwide OEM service and support agreement. HP and Marathon will work together to deliver next-generation HP NetServer Assured Availability solutions for Windows NT Server-based systems. -- Brian Ploskina
