Best Practices for Cloud Migrations
Date: Tuesday, January 26th at 11am PST / 2pm EST
Moving workloads to the cloud conceptually seems easy enough: take the on-perm virtual workload and replicate it to a cloud provider.
For a simple, non-critical, single server workload, sure – this would work. But critical workloads are complex; they are made up of multiple systems, rely on other services, have dependencies, and may or may not work as expected when pushed into a commoditized tier of a virtual machine service offering within the cloud.
And even if you can relatively easily migrate a workload to the cloud, there’s a good possibility you don’t have a true idea of what running that workload will cost you.
So, what does it take to minimize the risk found in cloud migrations?
In this interactive webcast, join Microsoft Cloud and Datacenter MVP, Nick Cavalancia, along with Samir Mehra, VP of Products at Device42, as they discuss:
- Why is migrating to the cloud riddled with risk and how likely will you experience it?
- What are the sources of cloud migration risk you need to be concerned with?
- How to proactively predict where risk exists, and what to do about it before migrating
