By the Numbers: Green Is Still Good

Green initiatives continue despite the roiling economic picture.

The ongoing recession isn't automatically derailing corporate efforts to adopt more environmentally friendly IT practices, according to a Forrester Research Inc. report.

"In fact, of responding companies that are changing the pace of their green IT activities in response to the economic outlook, those going faster outnumber those slowing down by 2-to-1," researchers wrote in their December 2008 report.

Conducted in October, the survey involved IT professionals at 1,022 companies worldwide. It updates three earlier Forrester polls on this topic. Following are the key findings:
