JNetDirect releases the latest version of its developer Java tool for Microsoft SQL and IBM Websphere; this week's newly certified partners.

JNetDirect Inc. today yesterday announced the release of JSQLConnect 5.0. The latest major version upgrade includes interoperability across Microsoft SQL Server 2005, secure SSL connections, NTLM authentication and support for IBM's Websphere 5.0 and 6.0.

JSQLConnect 5.0 is a native Type-4 JDBC driver that provides scalable and reliable connectivity for enterprise Java environments. The upgrade provides JDBC 3.0 support for access to SQL Server 2005 including access to data stored as the new SQL Server 2005 XML data type.

"JSQLConnect is one of only two drivers for SQL Server that is J2EE 1.4-certified and continues to outperform our main competitor in both performance and affordability," said David Murphy, executive vice president of Strategy and Development. "With this release, we also fully support IBM's most recent versions of Websphere."

JSQLConnect 5.0 will now provide encrypted connections via SSL to secure instances of SQL Server. NTLM authentication will provide integrated authentication within a Windows domain environment and significantly simplifies the task of authentication for database administrators.

"As a Microsoft Partner, we have worked closely with the SQL Server team to develop and optimize the performance plus add important security features in our new JSQLConnect 5.0," stated Burke Cox, CEO of JNetDirect, a Microsoft Certified Partner. "Our best-selling product, JSQLConnect, is operating in thousands of applications and purchased by expert developers in both corporate IT and independent software vendor environments."
