From the business wires this week: an authentication software that restricts access to a computer's apps, a logon script processor, and a developer's ActiveX component for .PDF files.

Anfibia released the latest version of its login authentication software with Deskman SE 6.0. The program allows users and admins to lock access to desktop computers while new features include the ability to disable Ctrl-Alt-Del and other shortcut key combinations; the ability to replace the Start Menu; and a Kiosk Mode which restricts computer use to one, or more, specified applications. SteelEye Technology announced the general availability of LifeKeeper for Windows version 5 and the new LifeKeeper for Exchange, which together offer expanded support for clustering Microsoft Exchange servers and enhanced manageability for data replication environments. Entrigue Systems released Script Start, a logon script processor. Script Start allows network administrators to centrally and remotely control and customize client machines during user logon. StorageQuest Inc. announced the released of its Reflector line of network backup and archive solutions which are designed to integrate with CD/DVD publication hardware from Rimage Corporation.
