Sonasoft Bows Windows Backup and Recovery Suite

San Jose, Calif.-based Sonasoft has bundled its backup and recovery products for major Microsoft systems into a comprehensive suite.
The SonaSafe Point-Click Recovery Suite includes the company’s flagship backup and recovery tools, SonaSafe for Exchange Server 2.0, SonaSafe for SQL Server 3.9, and SonaSafe for Windows File Systems 1.5.
“Now customers can use a single backup server to back up SQL, Exchange and file systems and they get a total solution for backing up anything to do with Microsoft [including] database, emails, applications, [and] files,” says Vas Srinivasan, vice president of marketing for Sonasoft.
Srinivasan points to Sonasoft’s simple-to-use interface as a key selling point for the company’s products. “The market is begging for a point-and-click solution [to backup and recovery],” Srinivasan says.
The company’s offering includes the SonaSafe application for $1,995. Then the customer can add “agents” for the applications to be backed up and recovered. The SQL Server and Exchange Server agents each cost $995, while the Windows file systems agent costs $1,295.
