Phishing remains most popular among cyber criminals because it works. It gets them inside victims’ networks. It works because the primary defense against it resembles a football team’s defensive line. They can stop many attacks by the offense, but some are always going to get through. One thing every coach will tell you is that the better you train that defensive line, the fewer attacks will get through.

That’s the reason MSPs encourage clients to give all their users Security Awareness Training (SAT). The better a user is trained to practice good cyber hygiene and the sharper we can make them at recognizing likely phishing emails the fewer attacks will get through and the less they’ll be vulnerable to ransomware.

In this Coffee Talk session, Senior Resultant Howard M. Cohen reviews the many cyber hygiene and other phishing perils customers face creating their need for better support from their MSPs and MSSPs. Awareness is the first step!
